Short Hair Style for Thick Curly Hair?

I have thick curly hair that can be hard to manage just past my shoulders. I found an example of a hair style I would like to get but I do not know if I should even attempt it. Can you please help out? Can someone advise how to upload/paste a picture? Thanks!!!

Short Hair Style for Thick Curly Hair?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Short Hair Style for Thick Curly Hair?

I have thick curly hair also. It looks better at shoulder length or longer. When it is short it puffs out way to much. I promise you will not like it.

How to style my toddler's curly hair?

My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and her hair always looks like a mess no matter what I do to it. It is curly and straight at the same time if you know what I am saying and it is very fine. I try to put it up in a ponytail but that doesn't look so good. I try to leave it down with a couple of barrettes in the front but after a while, her hair looks so limp. She also has a lot of static in her hair. I use hairspray to calm that down but then her hair looks even worse. Should I get it cut or can you offer any suggestions on how to work with it? I have had it cut into layers before but I don't know if that really helped or not. Her hair is so long, to the middle of her back but when it is dry, it is above her shoulders but somewhat curly and somewhat straight. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

How to style my toddler's curly hair?

I have naturly curley hair and my 4 year old little girl has the same hair. Curley but stright. I first put some gel in it. Just a little it helps keep the friz down and keeps the curls longer. Blow dry it with a difuizer it also helps with the friz and helps make the curls into ringlets. I then just pull it back into a poney tail to keep it out of her face or buy her some hair bands. I hope this helps.

How to style my toddler's curly hair?

my little one is of mixed race. so her hair is very curly. try a good kids conditioner and a bit of pomade for control and it is be natural curl are beautiful. Also never brush it when it is dry it will only cause it to poof up more.

How to style my toddler's curly hair?

Try using kids spray in conditioner/detangler and combing it over towards one side not super high on her head and putting it in a pony. Also use the conditioner/detangler and comb it then, put a head band in. Basically as long as you use that spray then comb it, it should be a lot easier and look better.

How to style my toddler's curly hair?

Just to let you know that blow drying will add extra

frizz, just damping it and then style with A Johnson %26amp;

johnson hair care product.

Nappy hair to curly hair?

hey ...i've been natural ( a big fro no texturizer nor perm whatsoever and not planning to) for about 2 years now and my hair is really nappy and dry.i was wondering if there is a way to make it curly and moisturized....thanks

Nappy hair to curly hair?

Relax it and put hot oil treatments on it (Hot 6 is really good) and you can curl it with a curling iron. That's what I did. ALso use Smooth n Shine, it has this amazing gloss spray that makes your hair shiny. Another good line for relaxed hair is Kerastase. The hair masques make your hair shiny and beautiful.

Nappy hair to curly hair?

There's plenty of ways to make your hair curlier when natural.

One way is to twist 2 stands of hair in small twists while wet with a good moisturizer and let it dry. When dry, unravel the twists. You can do more things with it natural than you can when it's relaxed. Report It

Help with my curly hair?

I have super kinky, curly, frizzy hair. But it's so pretty when it's wet. I can straighten it fine but I want to wear it curly. Any ideas on how to soften the curly and get rid of the frizz?

Help with my curly hair?

ok i had this problem for a LOOOOOONG time but this is what i do every morning before school:

1) i always wet my hair in the morning while im in the shower, but use cold water it prevents frizz.

2) i use A T-shirt and i SCRUNCH my hair. DONT rub it with a towel this creates frizz. it may take a few minutes to get dry but only scrunch it.

3) I spray a detangler then i comb my hair.

4) then i put sunsilk anti-poof 24-7 creme in my hair

5) then i put garnier fructis ant-frizz creme

6) then i use garnier fructis leave in conditioner

7) then i style my hair

8) repeat steps 4-6 but with a little less of the products.

9) i use herbal essences curl boosting mousse

10) lightly spray with tresemme hairspray

and voila! perfect curl that stay all day long. oh and DONT TOUCH YOUR HAIR. it creates frizz too. also i would recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase. i have tight ringlet curls that were poofy and frizzy and very thick. it is about mid-back once i started doing this process i can go to school with my hair down and not worry about my hair poofing or getting frizzy . ive gotten so many compliments! kay well just follow these steps and i swear you will be amzed with the results, i wouldn't have spent this much time typing it if it wasnt going to work right!?kay

Help with my curly hair?

I would suggest getting some anti-frizz serum [the one from Garnier Frutics works great!] and applying it to your wet hair. If there are particular spots that are giving you problems with frizziness, you could curl them with a small curling iron. That will have the effect that a flat iron has on already straight hair. It just smooths it out. It will be the same for you [only curly]. Curly hair is beautiful, your so lucky=]

Help with my curly hair?

www.naturallycurly.com is a great resource for curlyheads. You should find lots of information to help you out there.

Help with my curly hair?

Use the anti-frizz that other girl was talkin about and then dry your hair with a diffuser. If you dont have one, I suggest getting one. They are cheap and easy to find. Using a diffuser to dry your hair keeps the frizz down and really lets your curls come out

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

hey i have my 8th grade graduation on thursday and i want to do my hair curly but my hair is ALWAYS straight and i tried curling it before with a curling iron and curlers so can anyone help me i think i might be doing something wrong. oh yeah and should i put half of it up????? or leave it all down. no jokes please. all help and advice is welcomed

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

Well first put moose in your hair it'll help the curls stay in place longer. You might want to try doing various strands curled and the other strands straight. You get what I'm saying? Then once you get your hair however you like it spray it with hairspray.

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

put mousse in it first then spray it like the dickens with freeze it hairspray after you have curled it. half up and halp down would be pretty.

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

hot curlers

you probably take it out too soon

leave it all down

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

Your best bet is either a wet set with rollers or steam curlers. Wet set is obviously the cheaper or the two. You need rollers the size of the curls you want. Wash you hair. Apply some kind of setting lotion or gel. Roll 1 inch wide strips of hair. The thinner the strips the better. Then allow to either air dry or dry with a dryer. The longer the rollers stay the better the curls will hold. And I like hair half up. It looks fuller !

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

put setting gel on hair while wet. Then roll up hair. Set under hood dyer for about 30 mins to 1 hour. Wear hair pin up and some down in the back. Flat iron the front ( side bangs)

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

well i have this stuff called cat walk curls rock.. but i have curly hair to begin with so im not sure if it will really work but i think it still should on straight hair. but also if you have a straightener you can try and use that to curl it, you like pull down the straightener and then you flip your hair in it and keep pulling it down, while its like flipped.

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

how about getting it permed? that will definitely work... good luck.

HELP!!! Need CURLY HAIR!!?

Okay good question. You could do either the rollers and leave them in over night. First comb out the peice of hair you're going to roll, spray it with hairspray, then roll the hair up tight. Do that constantly till all the hair is in curlers then hairspray your entire head again. Don't do it with wet hair though because the wet hair won't let you take the curls completely. Also those soft rollers that you wrap your hair around and twist work great for sleeping in.

In the morning take the curlers out gently, style hair the way you want to wear it and use a curling iron to make sure it's done great on the ends. Plus use more hairspray.

Whether to wear it up or down depends on your hair legnth. If it's super long (Half way down back to waist legnth) then just leave it down but only curl the ends. If it's shorter then putting half up would look great too. Or if the curls come out great you can always just put it in a pony tail and let the curls hang.

How do you make stick-straight hair curly??

I like how my hair looks, but I would like to see it curly at least once. I have really fine hair. My hair usually looks oily if I put stuff other than conditioner and shampoo in it, and when I try curling irons, my hair will usually fall back into place after an hour or so.

I wanna see how i would look with Shakira-curly hair. How can I do that??

How do you make stick-straight hair curly??

try and scrunch it like the other people said. i have curly/ wavy and when i'm in a hurry, it's great. just squish your hair into like balls (not the best explaination) and blow dry. You might want to get shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, it makes my hair curlier.

How do you make stick-straight hair curly??

you use the curly iron and right after u do that put in hairspray

How do you make stick-straight hair curly??

Well I use Aussie Sculpting gel and spray. When your hair is wet or damp, you can apply it in your hands and sprunch your hair and blowdry it to make it look wavy. But if you want it curly use a curling iron.

Hope this helps =)

How do you make stick-straight hair curly??

Okay what you do is when you get out the shower, towel dry your hair and then comb through it.

Then drop two drops of: AG Re-coil Curl Activator ($15, drugstores) into your hand.

Rub both your hands together, then scrunch your hair with the cream in your hands. Then blow dry your hair with a diffuser.

Hair care for thick curly hair?

i have thick curly hair with a lotta tangles..i would like to know if itz safe to use conditioner everday and shampoo it twice a week.

Hair care for thick curly hair?

Get a good haircut so that 'poofiness' is at a minimum. If you don't get a trim, you can get the triangle effect where is the curls just poof out at the bottom. Its safe to use conditioner everyday, I would defenitly reccommend it. Try a leave in treatment as well - AG Fast Food Leave In or try a defrizzing, curl enhancing cream such as KMS Curl Up Cream or Bedhead Curls Rock.

Hair care for thick curly hair?

yea its safe

Hair care for thick curly hair?

u should use shampoo and condition ur hair 4 times a week

Hair care for thick curly hair?

Condition it daily and only shampoo it once a month

Also use a leave in cond on it daily

You can go to naturalycurlyhair.com and they have some good advice

I also have thick curly hair

Hair care for thick curly hair?

Ah a woman from my own heart

I wash and condition my hair everyday

I know it's bad - but I use a mild shampoo - I have so much product in my hair to "tame" the curls I can't not wash my hair and restyle it

Hair care for thick curly hair?

I have thick, curly, knotty hair too. I wash it every morning with Pert Plus....it's manageable. Of course, while washing it, if any gets tangled in my fingers, I just go ahead and pull it out. :D I haven't had a haircut in almost a year.

I have a problem with my curly hair, HELP!?

Their are a lot if places to go. You can go to Sally's and ask for some styling gel and grease for you hair. They usually have it.

I have a problem with my curly hair, HELP!?

Use Neutrogena Triple Moisture. They have shampoo, conditioner and several leave in treatments. I recommend using the whole line.

I have a problem with my curly hair, HELP!?

Just go to asian hair salon and get a straight perm. It's permant way to get it straight for months.

I have a problem with my curly hair, HELP!?

Use a curl defining cream. Stay away from gels (they can dry out hair and and also have that hard wet look if you don't air it). I like Aquage products (I get this at my salon).

Afro longish curly hair suprise colour for my partner when he gets back of his holiday its going to

XXL Violetey pink but I was just wondering as I know my hair dosnt grow that quick as its longish curly afro hair but how can I touch up that coulour roots and what do ya think of the colour by the way he dosnt mind the wilder colours lol (he didnt like me when I got blonde highlights but did when I dyed it UV pink for a rave) and dya think hell be suprised hehehe?

Afro longish curly hair suprise colour for my partner when he gets back of his holiday its going to be...?

I think he will love it!!!! I have dark curly hair and my hubby didn't like my blonde hi lights either - I think because we have dark hair a really dark violet pinky colour would look great - or even go for navy blue and royal blue colours - in fact i think you will be lucky enough to pull off any vibrant colour! To touch the roots up just buy the dye again but only do your roots - be confident with your new look and sexy!! he will love it - good luck xxx

Afro longish curly hair suprise colour for my partner when he gets back of his holiday its going to be...?

What do you mean when you say he didn't like you when you had blond highlights?

Is he that shallow that he judges people and you by their appearence? Leave your hair alone and get a man who likes you no matter what you do to yourself.

Wait for it to grow out a little, and get a perm for guys. Then cut it to the leanth you want.

I want curly hair..?

Try to use a culry shampoo and conditoner. i have naturally curly hair and it is not easy to deal with. It a lot harder to style and care for. It gets dry much easier and can tend to look quite sloppier then straight hair.

Guys- curly or straight hair?

If there was a girl and she could choose to have naturally very curly hair or straight mid length hair what would you find more attractive?

Guys- curly or straight hair?

How can I get the best curly hair without the frizz!?! HELP!!!!?

Go to "Sally's Beauty Supply", they have a syrum called "Frizz Ease", I use it. It really works wonders.

How can I get the best curly hair without the frizz!?! HELP!!!!?

Have you tried Frizz-Ease?? Sold in supermarkets in a clear or blue bottle for about $10. It's a serum that coats your hair... just use a pea-size or else will weigh it down. Use on your hair when soaking wet before drying or scrunching. I have used and it helps a lot... after I get out of the shower I use a tad bit of Frizz ease, a small amount of harispray all over my hair, then scrunch and let dry naturally. If you hairdry, use a diffuser to cut down on frizz.

How can I get the best curly hair without the frizz!?! HELP!!!!?

Try 'Ion anti-frizz solutions' it works geat for me. Use a wide-toother comb to help prevent frizz and try to use the comb when your hair is a little bit wet but not too wet, because it will damage your hair. If your hair is too dry there will be more frizz. Also try leave-in conditioner when your hair is up.

always use a smoothing serum on damp hair then finish blow drying completely. (flat iron won't take on damp hair.)and also apply it to dry hair just before ironing it. and be methodical about ironing - pin up what you are not ironing and pin down what has been.

Can japanese straightening permanently ruin curly hair?

I have really curly hair that's fine when it's soaking wet, but as soon as it begins to dry it frizzes and expands. My hair doesn't absorb the water; it drips dry in about 10 minutes. It's especially annoying in humid weather. I've been considering japanese straightening, but i don't plan on doing it constantly. How will that effect my curly hair? How does japanese straightening hair look when wet?

Can japanese straightening permanently ruin curly hair?

pretty much but it also drys it out really bad

Can japanese straightening permanently ruin curly hair?

If your hair is drying in 10 mins then it is absorbing the water. Curly hair is often very dry. It's sucking the water up like a sponge. Sounds like you need to condition like crazy. Try a thing called cholesterol. I know, i know, but if you go to a beauty supply store or even wal-mart, you will see it. Use it once a week and wrap your head in saran wrap while you have it on. next, use a conditioning mousse or something made for taming curls while your hair is still wet and let it air dry. It wont be poofy. As far as Japanese straightening. If its chemical it can damage your hair to the point of it falling out. And growing it back will take foreverrrrrrrrrrrr. But if there is someone who is skilled at doing it and you trust, and you MUST have it done, then just be sure to take extra good care of it before and after you get it done.

Can japanese straightening permanently ruin curly hair?

it wont ruin it. its just like getting a straightening perm. you can still curl it with an iron or curlers but it will be naturaly straight untill the new hair grows in because the perm will only effect the showing hair and when new grows it it will be curly

Can japanese straightening permanently ruin curly hair?

I think your hair is like mines, I've done the Jap straightening 2x times already and I love it. Makes my life so much easier. When ur hair is wet ur hair is pretty much straight. You just have to make sure to do a lot of conditioning treatments so your hair doesn't get damaged

Thick and curly hair help!??

I want to get a hair cut but I'm not sure what I should do.

I have REALLY thick and wavy/curly hair.

I'm tired of the straight cut and I was thinking about getting layers or an Angle cut.

What do you think I should do?

Thick and curly hair help!??

oh you sound like meee!

i usually do a little bit of layers and i have some angles too. If you're unsure about how it will look, ask your stylist to layer it a little bit, and if you like it get more next time =)

Thick and curly hair help!??

Try layers or an angle

Thick and curly hair help!??

get rebond and have a new look

Thick and curly hair help!??

I have the same problem! Personally, I think that if you get lots of layers it would look really cute! That's what I did, and I think it looks awesome...Except my hair is poofy :P

Thick and curly hair help!??

A girl I went to school with had thick curly hair (long) and she got it cut in a "v"...kinda layered looking. It looked really good. Don't do anything dramatic though if you're experimenting...I did and I looked like a mushroom for a long time.

Thick and curly hair help!??

My daughter has what I call "bushman" hair. It is long and extremely thick and unruly (not frizzy, just full and unruly). It was long and it just looked messy and it was not good. I took her to get her hair cut before school started and asked that they put longer layers in it. They took ALOT off of her hair but what a difference. The layers actually made her look less bushy and more stylish, even tho she still has a monstrous amount of hair, it is a little easier to comb as well.

Thick and curly hair help!??

You should let it grow neck length at the border line at touching your back and put a part in the middle of your head and have your hair combed on the sides of your head

Thick and curly hair help!??

My hair is actually the exact way but over the summer I cut it into a pixie. Instantly the hair was too short to curl and it looks totally adorable! But, if you have a round face then I don't recommend it. Otherwise, go for it. It will increase your confidence like crazy and make you stand out in a crowd.

Thick and curly hair help!??

Really thick and wavy/curly hair.... hmmm. A lot of girls/women would kill for hair like that. Since you have it, pick a cut that will exploit its glory.

Thick and curly hair help!??

If your hair is really that thick and wavy then layers is the way to go. Not everyone can do it, as some people would kill for your kind of volume, so if you can do layers you should go for it. It is a sophisticated style that doesn't require a lot of maintenance. If you want to try other styles feel free to check out a hair straightener. There is a link to those in the source section of this post. I would try your natural hair type with layers first though.

Thick and curly hair help!??

If you don't want to do something as drastic as getting your hair choped off, try Loreal springing curls products. I got a VERY curly perm and they help me alot. it calmed my afro down and added bouncy texture. I also got mine cut while it was curly, and it was great! go for it girl!

Thick and curly hair help!??

If your hair is curly like my bff you should do what she did you look in popular magazines for wavy and or people with curly hair and decide out of all their hair with u like the best

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

my hair is so curly that i have an afro. i have long curly hair, i am white , my hair grows quick and i have tried herbal essances. also i have tried a iron thing but that ruins my hair i need a product or sumthing i can get at walmart or some place cause i am a little short on cash for right now. any ideas on wat to do?

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

lmao, your hair looks like mine. except im a girl. and i straighten everyday. okay this is what i do.

1. use a straightening inhansing shampoo, i use Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight shampoo and conditioner and sometimes instead i Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizziness shampoo and conditioner because straighting your hair everyday is gonna totally make it frizzy and dry. so maybe instead of those you should just use shampoo and use a deep conditioner once every week.

2. let your hair air dry, then brush though it

3. (opitional) Bed Head TIGI Control Freak Extra Extra Straight spray. i use this so when i straighten my hair wont fry as much

4. use a wet to set straightener, i use Vidal Sassoon Wet to Set Straightener, it works pretty good. :)

5. to polish off the look, smooth After-Party Bed Head TIGI cream, but dont put too much on top of your head because it will look really greasy

okay, well don't shower every day, if its possible, shower like every other day. or you must shower everyday, put ur hair in a bath cap or something, so you dont have to redo it everyday.

in the morning, when getting ready for what ever you do, just straighten a little bit, like a touch up, and put After Party cream stuff on your ends and anywhere it looks really dry to finish it off.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

I'd say this works pretty good. The directions are also on the web page.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

thy sell strainer the dollar store mite have it

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

Get heat spray it protects your hair from burning.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

I would suggest using garnier fructis sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner. They even have the deep 3 minute conditioner that also helps. Even though you have tried an iron I still suggest you use this shampoo and conditioner (which you can get at wal mart and is not expensive) and then use a flat iron on it. I use a Chi, which is relatively expensive, but in my opinion the best you can get. I hope this helps you.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

I use Bio silk and it works good. It can make your hair look greasy if you use to much. I think Target has it. There is a shampoo, and a serum. After I wash and use the product I blow out my hair with a large round brush (takes getting used to) then use the flat iron. But if you want to skip the round brush and the bow dryer get a blower with a comb attachment. section your hair into small sections and blow out (comb out) That is my favorite way to do it much faster.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

I have wavy hair, so whenever I try to grow it out, it never fails I look like I have a mullet.

Then, what I did was I went to a salon and had it all permed straight, then I stopped cutting it and let it grow long enough to all tie back together. The first time it wasn't long enough, but the following year I permed it again, and for two years have had it permed twice, (once a year in July near my birthday) and all along I have been also tying it back. I think the tying helps keep it straight.

This year I don't think I will go with another perm, because my hair is long enough to all tie back, and that helps keep it straight, but God help me if I ever cut it short again, because I'd have to start the whole process again.

I really don't think there's an easier way, than to have it long enough so it all can be tied, an accomplishment in itself with curly haired people. You see, you still have to worry about when it will start growing in again and when it does, (inevitably), it could come out bad.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

if you have a big afro, cut. then either get a straightener, a straight perm, or go bald.

I want straight hair but mine is super curly?

i dont no what 2 tell u.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

My hair is about an inch or two below my chin, it's got flyaways, and I have bangs that I sweep to the side. My hair is really curly, but in the front and top, its more frizzy and undefined. I need some products and a routine that I can use that won't consume too much time or money.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

try garnier fructis shampoo, conditioner and styling products (including gloss drops) for manageable hair without spending too much money!

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

Sunsilk De Frizz.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

The easiest thing for you would be mousse. Or hair gel. Whichever works better for your hair. Put the mousse in your hair before it dries and it will define your curls. It will also tame the frizz.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

What do I know? Ask a professional hairdresser. They know which products work for what type of hair.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

I would use, as a hairdresser, a product by TIGI. The Curls Rock line. All of it from Shampoo to hairspray. It all works great for curly, frizzy hair. When you get out of the shower use the leave in Moisturizer. That will help keep the moisture in. Then use the curl booster spray. After that use the curl amplifier. It's a cream, and that will help to define your curls. Also. After that flip your head upside down and scrunch from your ends to your roots. This will help the top to not be as "flat" and it will get the curls on top to be more defined. Afterwards, if you have a diffuser, use it while your head is flipped upside down. After you get done with that, use the hairspray and then use a shine spray. That will help to keep your hair looking shiny and healthy. This will only take about 5-10 minutes maximum in the morning. Also don't dry your hair all the way. It will cause it to be frizzier. If you need anymore help, please feel free to ask.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

First of all...find a really good shampoo and conditioner combo. They don't even have to be by the same company. You will have to try some out. Tresemme always makes awesome conditioners. Try the remoisturize formula. As for shampoo...you have to kind of shop around. It is also great to mix it up a bit (don't always use the same brands more than two to three months. Try other brands of shampoos (the hair sort of goes, "Awe...I see...she's using the same ole, same ole...it is usually down hill from there. You can go back to your favorites once and a while, but do "trick" your hair or it becomes immune. Sounds crazy, but it is true. That is why they call it Trickology [I'm not quite sure how they spell that]). Leaving some of the conditioner in your hair also keeps it a lot softer. Don't keep all of it in. Rinse some of it out, or your hair will feel stiffer than desired. Overall, lots of vitamin rich shampoos and conditioners with lots of moisturizers work best. Beware of some shampoos which claim to give you awesome results...these so-called shampoos only dry your hair more. You have to try some out for yourself. Not all hair types are the same. What works for me, may not work as well for you, so shop around a bit.

Using greasy hair dressing is also unfavorable. It coats the outside, but locks out vital vitamins from penetrating the inside. The result is dry damaged hair. I could go on and on on this subject, but I really need to be going. Drop me a line sometimes and I will fill you in on some things that have really proven favorable to me.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

To cut frizz you need a frizz serum such as John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum. I would also reccomend the straightening shampoo and conditioner by Paul Mitchell.

Frizzy, browm, curly hair, how to tame without straightening?

I have naturally curly hair as well, and it took me forever to figure this out. here's what you do.

Go to a salon and get TIGI's Curls Rock Curl Amplifier.

Then go to CVS /a drugstore, and get Frizz Ease serum Extreme (in the purple bottle) and Sunsilk's Anti Poof Shampoo and Conditions and Sunsilks 24/7 Cream for both Anti-Poof and Defrizz (blue and green bottles.). Also, you can get hot oil, Alberto VO5 moisturizing and do this once a week for shinier hair.

Before entering the shower, heat up water in a microwave for 2 minutes, or until boiling. Then drop one of the hot oils in the boiling water. Leave it in there for about 2 minutes. Enter the shower and wet your hair. Open the hot oil and comb it through your hair. Leave in for one minute, then rinse out. Shampoo your hair, and rinse. Then comb about two quarter sized amounts of the conditioner into your hair, and leave in for about 4 to 5 minutes to moisturize. Then rinse the conditioner out with COLD water, which seals the cuticle of you hair, resulting in shine. After rinsing, turn the shower off, and squeeze your hair dry. Don't towel dry, cause it will cause excess frizz. Pump about 2 quarter sized amounts of Frizz Ease into your hand and comb it in from root to tip. Make sure you get to the back. Squeeze the water from your hair again. Fill your hand with equal parts of each type of Sunsilk, and comb it through your hair once again, focusing on the areas that tend to poof or frizz the most. Squeeze the excess water from your hair once again. Next, pump three squirts of Curls Rock Amplifier into your hand, and scrunch in throughout your hair. Once done, let your hair airdry. You can stick a towel between your hair and your clothes to prevent your clothes from getting wet. Never towel dry though. As it dries, if you find your hair frizzing, then use sunsilk defrizz to correct this. Try not to lie down during the drying, because it might squash the curls. You should have shiny frizz free curls once finished. If you want added spirals, get Redken Ringlet Cream and Garnier Fructis Hard Curl Pomade and a curling iron to add the spirals, but I find that my hair turns out great without an iron.

I guarantee this works for me. If you want something to straighten your hair, get Redkin Smooth Down Line. It works great. Hai irons work great, and I found one for $50 on ebay for you.

Enhancing short curly hair/ hair styles?

Enhancing short curly hair/ hair styles?

Don't cut it short!!!!

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

I love my curly hair but its so hard to manage. Its extremely thick and not like a normal thick but enough for at least two other people. (even with it thinned out a lot) So its always poofy. How can I help my hair so that its not poofy? Also i want looser curls, but I dont have time for those complicated processes so does anyone know a shampoo or something that loosens your curls?

thanks in advance =]

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

to loosen your curls (and gosh this is such a long and hard process, but if ou want it done, your have to do it) first you have to straighten it. then loosly curl some of your hair around a curling iron (make sure its at it top temp. before you begin). when your finished, apply some hairspray or leave in conditioner. i use herbal essences none of your frizzness.

also i can recommend you an excellent shampoo that will help with your poofyness. sunsilk anti poof (blue kind) shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 creme. you can get all three for under $10 almost anywhere.

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

Biolage curl defining creme works wonders!

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

If you get any good answers to that email me. I don't know either. I have tried everything. I usually have to straight iron it. It looks good if i do that but otherwise it looks like... i don't know what. Maybe you need to grow your hair long and put curlers in or something that might look nice.

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

use curl activator spray. just spray a little into ur damp hair and make a tight bun or buns. let it dry and undo the buns and separate the curls with ur fingers

to contol poofiness use hydarating or mosturising shampoos and conditioners like pantene oil replacement or herbal essences dangerously smooth

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

omg i have practically the same thing. you should try garnier fructis sleek and shine anti frizz serum. after you shampoo and condition your hair let it dry for about 15 minutes, massage the serum in you hair and tie it up in a bun. If you have a blow dryer with the cold setting, thats good. After about 2 hours (dont untie the bun) click on the cool setting of your blowdrier and blowdry for 10-15 minutes.

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

try a hair straightening cream or gel, you can also buy pantene shampoo / conditioner called extra straight. There are some good cheap hair straighteners on the market also

Manage my curly hair and loosen my curls?

well this might not be very fast but it does work...

if you keep straining your hair by using the blowdryer your curls will naturly loosen up after a while...i trie it and it worked but it will take quite a while so i suggest that at the same time you are blowdrying it use good shampoos %26amp; creams and eat your protenes

Guys: Wavy/Curly or Straight Hair?

I'm having hair probs. my hair is straight sometimes and curly other times what do i do i love

i got a perm and my bangs are not curly at all! how do i make them curly without getting my hair permed agian!

ps. anyone who knows anything about hair HELP!!!!

I'm having hair probs. my hair is straight sometimes and curly other times what do i do i love curly hair!

I have the same problem. part of my hair will be curly at times and part will be straight. It drives me crazy. Although I want my hair to be all straight. I do curl it sometimes. What I do is while it is still wet get some scunching spray and spray on it or work some gel, mousse or what ever is available. Use a diffuser on your hairdryer and keep scrunching your hair as your blowdry. You might have to add a little more hair spray as you go. but your get the picture and then use a pick to comb out the hair if necessary.

I'm having hair probs. my hair is straight sometimes and curly other times what do i do i love curly hair!

either curl them with a small barrel curling iron, or scrunch them. or do not blowdry them after a shower, usually that helps them curl. also try adding curling spray to them before they dry. hope this helps!!

I'm having hair probs. my hair is straight sometimes and curly other times what do i do i love curly hair!

well bangs usually look better straight but if you want to curl them, curl them with a curling iron or get herbal essences curling mouse and put it on ur bangs and scrunch it.

I'm having hair probs. my hair is straight sometimes and curly other times what do i do i love curly hair!

datz ok. dat actually sounds good bangz look better straight, but if ya really want em curly den jus scrunch it.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

I have dirty blonde, slighty-poofy naturally curly hair. It's not extremely curly, but rather has...loose curls. It's rather annoying, as it isn't the gorgeous curls that some girls have. My hair is also naturally thick and slightly poofy. It used to be longer, but I didn't like how it poofed out at the bottom so I cut it to about shoulder-length now, and have stopped using a straightening iron because it completely trashed the ends.

Now I want to straighten my hair again, but don't want to make it look dull and lifeless again. I already use Sunsilk Straighten Up shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 cream. It doesn't work much. I don't blowdry my hair because I heard that makes it MORE poofy, but then I've also heard that your hair will be straight if you blowdry it straight. Which of these is true?

Lastly, HOW do I get rid of the poofiness? This is the most important part of this question. The poofiness, I HATE it. Are there any specific thinning products anyone knows?

Thanks all.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

There's a bunch of different options you can take.

For one, I highly recommend purchasing John Frieda's FrizzEase ... it works magic! :) To moisturize and help tame the frizz, you might also want to try some home remedies. Try cracking a couple of eggs, whisking them, and massaging them into your hair for a mask - let sit for 30 minutes or so. Then rinse. Your hair will feel silky smooth and temporarily tame some of the craziness. This works with mayo also. They may not smell fabulous, but it works.

This next option is a bit more pricey, but it will save you the hassle in the long run. Ask your hairdresser if she is able to chemically straighten your hair! If she can't, opt to find someone near you who can. You hair will be silky and straight for at least 3-4 months.

Lastly, the best hair straightener to get for your type of hair would be a Chi. They are wonderful, but overuse can cause heat damage to the hair and lots of split ends.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

i comb mine then straighten it but then when i take a shower i have to re straighten it again when ever i have time

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Flatiron all the way! Use a shine product with it. They make some really good ones now that don't damage your hair.

Good luck!

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Get a hair iron and when blow drying (if you still need to) use a brush to hold it straight (under tension).

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Rebonding is the answer. it costs a bit expensive but it lasts from 6 to 12 months so its worth it.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

You can have it thinned out or razored by a stylist. Also, you should invest in a good straightener. It shouldn't "trash" the ends if it is a good quality and you are getting a regular trim.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

use a good straightening iron

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

flat irons work great. go to duane reade or rite aid. i bought one that works great for me!

but be careful .. your hair gets so used to it , you cant live without it, and burning your hair 24/7 kills your hair

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

well u can try 2 blow dry it with a brush, and like style it. ooooo and if u want the beachy look out sea salt it ur hair it really works i do that all the time.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Use the Sleek and Shine products that are designed for black women. It really works on Caucasian hair too!

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

this is the easiest way:

comb hair

straight all your hair

re-curl it in loose long curls

your sure 2 have the sexiest hair! good luck w/ your hair troubles lol

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

well you could try a straighter and if that don't work go to a salon they Can probably do it.

Get some straightening serum/gel of any type and put it in your hair when its wet, after shampooing. Then part your hair into sections and blowdry using a round brush. Make sure your hair is completely dry in each section before moving on to the next. This makes my hair pin straight and not poofy at all, and I have SUPER curly hair. Good Luck!!

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

its nice to straighten your hair but if its flat on top thats a big no no! u no have to have volume to amke it look sexy jus flaunt your hair....blow drying is the best for me i make sure to get volume on top nice loose curls on the bottom are nice otherwise get cream from Ulta or sephora made for puffy/frizzy hair they'll help i use it all the time....some of my friends use lotion on their hair 2! not alot though just a dime dize and brush it through your hair especially on those puffy spots

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

I have similar hair. :) I hope this helps you!

I use the conair wet 2 straight straightener (Wal-mart under 30$... First I shower towel dry my hair and spray in then I spray in John Frieda Collection- Frizz-Ease Straight Answer (You can get at Wal-mart for less than like 5 bucks) then I straighten my hair. I straighten my hair while it's still damp to make sure I got everything and when I'm done my hair likes flat and sleek and shiny looking. I havent found anything that has worked as good as that straight answer but I also really like Herbal Essences straight answer or something like that it comes in a pinkish bottle it's straighting spray also. But I hope I helped! Good Luck!

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

You could:

1. Embrace your curls. I have naturally curly hair too, and I used to hate it because I wasn't styling it right. You need to have the right shampoo/ gel and find a technique that fits your hair type

2. Straighten it, but not everyday. I go back and forth wearing my hair curly and straight, and I find this helps with damage. Personally, I think Sunsilk sucks. I use Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight shampoo, conditioner, and the mousse. Put the mousse in your hair when it's damp, not soaking wet. Then blowdry and straighten it.

It's all about finding the right hair cut that suits your hair type and getting into the right routine. Your hair stylist might be able to help you out even more.

Hope all this helps :)

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

You have to get a Brazilian Keratin hair Treatment. Your hair will be shinny, smooth, straight, and healthy. It will last about 3 months. It is soooooo worth the money about $ 200

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

umm wwell there are straighting gel productts tht reli work !!

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

I would suggest that you go to a salon and have a Japanese straightening performed on your hair. I don't know how much it costs here in the US, but I'm sure your could get an estimate. I had one done in March and I had fantastic results. Though you'll need to use a blow dryer to dry your hair to maintain it straight in the way you desire. As for the poofiness maybe you should ask at a salon.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

okay well i used to have your same problem. what i did was i went and got it thined at the sallon and yuo have to go buy a inch straitener and a two inch make sure their good and always strighten and blowdry your hair cuz in most cases it will look like you didnt even try.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

my hair is like yours. Whenever i wash my hair, i use dove shampoo, i tried others, but dove works the best. After the shower, while my hair is not soaking wet but still wet, i put on Special Effects Hair Graffiti, Straight Arrow. This protects it from getting fried when you straighten it. Wait until your hair is damp, then brush it so its straight. After its dry i tie up half my hair so its easier to straighten. I use InfraShine, A high performance straightening iron. It takes me 15-20 minutes to do my hair, but its worth it in the end!

For the poofness, i would either use a de-poof spray after you put on the straight arrow.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

I know exactly what you're talking about...my hair is exactly the same way- extremely thick and slightly curly. I usually put a serum in my hair (paul mitchell from the hair salon or sunsilk - the blue one for de-poofing hair as it dries) and then I use a straightener and straighten in it in sections. If you blow dry your hair, do it the same way- in sections. Starting with the bottom layer first.

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

You can buy anti-frizz gels...

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Okay, if you go to Sally Beauty Supply there is a line called ION. There is a spray product to protect your hair from the heat from straighting irons. I really does. I iron my hair almost daily and it works. It also works great when I keep my hair curly to keep it from getting poofy. It wasn't meant for that but it works!

http://www.sallybeauty.com/ion-anti-friz...

I have tried other heat protectants or anti frizz products and this is the only one I have found not to gum up my iron and also really works to keep my hair silky straight.

My hair is just like yours. Not super curly, but annoyingly wavy...and very poofy if not ironed.

I have blown dry my hair then done a quick iron over it for a fuller but still flat look. Otherwise I usually let my hair dry over night, then iron in the morning. That's when it's really flat.

Good Luck!

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Alright you have a blonde version of my hair.

First off, don't use sunsilk, that stuff is crap.

Professional hairstylists say that the ultimate BEST cheapest shampoo and conditioner to use is Suave.

Next, Since Sunsilk was crappy for you, you still need to use a different cream that will protect you from the heat. Even if you're not straightening it you probably plan on blowdrying it. These heat tools will damage your hair and make it look lifeless without a proper heat protection cream. Personally, I think you get the best deal with L'Oreal Starighten up Cream.

As for poofiness, straightening will help!

Yes, blowdrying will make it worse, which is why I let my hair dry over night. If it comes down to it put the blowdryer on "low".

As for blowdrying it straight, well that only works for people with naturally straight hair or wavy hair.

Last you need to invest in a good straightner.

Anyone will work just fine.

Also, cutting your hair shorter will make it look even more poffy and thick.

Hope this helps. =]

How do you get sleek, straight hair from curly, slightly poofy hair?

Certain people cannot blowdry their hair straight because brushes make their hair worse. Invest in a good flat iron with ceramic plates. For cases like yours, you really get what you pay for (something from WalMart isn't going to cut it).

Try getting your hair thinned a little at the stylists to make it more manageable. Then, after you shower, wrap hair in a microfiber towel to remove excess moisture. Then spray in a heat protectant (Thermasilk's is nice) and then coat your hair in straightening serum (Frizz-Ease is good). Then flat iron in sections; this way, you limit the amount of heat and still ensure a good result.

And don't wash your hair as often. On days you don't wash, just put your hair under a showercap, and mist it with leave-in conditioner.

How can i control my frizzy/curly hair.?

Hello, I have Very Frizzy hair as well, and have tried a lot of products, but I have found one that I like the best so far, its Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength Formula. Its made by John Frieda and retails for about 10.00.

Its also very easy to use!

After shampooing and conditioning apply to Wet Hair (squeeze out excess moisture but do not towel dry). Take an amount about the size of a half dollar into palms and smooth evenly through wet hair. Do not rinse out. Use more or less depending on length and thickness of hair and Style~

I hope this helps.

oh and you can either buyt it online or most the time walmart or walgreens will carry this, and althogh I have tried the original strength I like the extra strength one better!
