Help me manage my curly hair :(?

I have this crazy curly/wavy/frizzy hair that reaches just below my shoulder blades. I've been blow drying it straight for years, but now I want to embrace the madness and leave it curly. The only problem is, I'm not quite sure how to manage it and create nice, natural curls (preferably without using heat).

I have an idea of what I want to do, and I'm pretty sure my hair can do it too!

http://blogs.sltrib.com/tv/uploaded_imag...

(Allison from So You Think You Can Dance, and Jamie has great hair too...but I cant find a good picture!!!!)

Thank you so much for your help!!!! :-D

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

PERSONALLY help you manage your hair?!? That's out of my jurisdiction.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

Why don't you go to a hair salon and get a perm? They last like 3 monts! It'll probably work. Or if you don't want to, ask them what to do yourself.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

I have naturally wavy/curly hair and every day I use paul mitchell extra body sculpting foam and john freida frizz ease and the scrunch my hair a little bit.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

I have naturally curly hair and wish it was straight sometimes. LOL. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you to do.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

I have curly hair just like the pic. I use all Frizz Ease products or Ouidad. Oidad is cool b/c they tailor your products to the questionairre you fill out, but it's pricey.

I've used both w/ great results, just follow the directions.

In my experience diffusing when the hair is still pretty wet works best, but get it ALL the way dry or frizzies will pop out.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

i have the thickest curliest hair in the WORLD. what to do to tame your curls is buy some defrizzer. i always had to put defrizzer in it then put mouse on top of that and i let it air dry. the defrizzer will help define your curls and not make them a big hairball on your head and the mouse will help it to stay in place. you can buy products that are DIRT cheap at walmart that do this or you can go out and spend some money at ahair salon and get top of the ine things. they all gave me the same result

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

If you like hair that looks like you've just been @ the beach, you can buy this stuff from garnier fructis called surf hair.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

i also have really curly hair. what i do to my hair is use an anti frizz serum from citrus shine before i untangle my hair. then i put some mousse on it herbal works good and use a diffuser. make sure you dry it completely.

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

When you get out of the shower put a little conditioner, a little gel, an a little spray. I have natural curly hair and that recipe works like a charm on me!!!

Oh make sure your hair is damp NOT soaking wet!!!!

Help me manage my curly hair :(?

ahh i have hair exactly like yours.

and when i wear it curly, it looks a lot like the picture you posted.

heres what you need to do to get your hair like that:

1) when you get out of the shower brush your hair, and try to wring most of the water

2) wait about 10 minutes [in which time you could get dressed or whatever] and then apply some type of gel or mousse to your hair. you can find these anywhere. a salon, a drugstore, wal-mart, target. just look for a mousse or gel thats specifically made for shaping or crimping curly hair. squeeze out the gel/mousse into your hands and then start crimping your damp hair.

3) after you have crimped your damp hair with a thourough amount of gel/mousse, spray hairspray generously throughout your hair. this will keep it frizz-free and hold the curls.

good luck :)

I have curly hair, you can say ..?

I have curly hair, you can say, and I use a pantene mousse and a back to basics gel. I also use a leave in conditioner. I use these products after a shower. It dries and when I go to bed and wake up in the morning, it's not what I want it to be. It doesn't like wave from the top its kinda straight from the top but it doesnt look bad, i just don't want like that. I want either looser curls or tighter curls not somewhere in the middle, and definetely more volume. The length of my hair is a couple inches below my shoulders, and it's in layers [layers are a bit below my chin] Any ideas or suggestions of what I can do or use to make my hair look better? Thanks. =)

I have curly hair, you can say ..?

curls are better when you hair is one length. When you layer curly hair you often cut out the best bit of the curl.

I have curly hair, you can say ..?

You can have layers just make sure they're not more than 1in. and not too many. also try not to get too many in the back. when you have curls no matter what you do it will never look nice when you wake up. just water down some mousse and work with the top layer just dont over do it. The longer your hair the less volume the roots will have, keep this in mind. Also ditch the gel it only makes it look like you have less hair and dries it out.

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

I have short curly hair and i want it straight for good. You know people have straight hair can get a perm and make their hair curly. Can I do the same with Curly but make it straight?

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

Well, you can chemically straighten your hair, but, I would caution that you may not get your curls back when you want them. Not knowing HOW short your short is... if it's long enough to pull back or put up, use product that is formulated to straighten and smooth hair, and blow dry using a large round brush, followed by a flat iron.

If it's shorter than that... try one of those hot air brush wands that looks like a curling iron. That always works for me on the rare occassions I don't want to celebrate my curls. :-)

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

well if u really want to, u can go get the "japanese hair straightening" one. it makes ur hair super straight and slick!

however, ur curly roots might grow out after, making it curly on top and straight below. that's why u have to straighten it( touch up) every 6 months or ur hair will look funny.

but if u want soft manageable hair while it lasted... go for japanese one...

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

why???? enjoy your lucious locks...

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

the best thing is to get your hair straighted.... there is a product thats about 30 bucks at walgreens from john friedia (sp?) and it lasts about 3 months...but you will always have to do something, everytime your hair grows in it will be curly. the only thing that i have heard of being able to change your hair texture is to shave it off...but thats no guarantee

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

Use a good Hair Serum, John Frieda makes one for eliminating Frizz, Frizz Ease Collection. If youa re using a straightening Iron, use a good conditioner to help protect your hair.

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

yesss...you can go for pressing of your hair..though its not permanent n lasts only till u wash your hair.

But it can be a gud option in order to avoid any exensive or chemical treatment.

How can someone with curly short hair straighten it without making it wavy or fuzzy or damage?

you can get them chemically straightened which may last from 3-5 months or use the straightening iron for short term solutions. however in either case, be prepared for some damage to hair. doing this repeatedly makes the hair rough and weak. if you use straightening iron, use thermal protection lotions before using the iron.

I need help with my curly hair, any experts out there?

Hello,

I'm a boy with curly hair and I heard L' oreal Studio Products are great. I want to know which L' oreal Studio Product will be best for my hair. My hair is frizzy and dry. The lenght of my hair is medium, not short or long. I want something that would make my hair stay wet all day, give it shine, make my curls soft, and frizzy free. Thank You for your help, I really appreciated it.

I need help with my curly hair, any experts out there?

BioSilk has to be one of the best products for naturally curly hair. If you don't want to spend alot, use a hair gel after you get out of the shower which controls friz and keeps it smooth, or use a mousse which keeps your hair looking 'wet'.

I need help with my curly hair, any experts out there?

I believe one product is called pumping curls or something like that. It is a curl enhancer. Spray that on when wet, finger set it, and don't touch the hair the rest of the day. It will keep away frizzies and give smooth, defined curls. I don't like the scent of it, personally, and prefer Pantene products, but they might smell too "frilly" for you. Get a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and deep condition your hair, too. Make sure the ends are trimmed and healthy, even if that means taking off length. It isn't worth having longer hair if it is in bad shape.

I need help with my curly hair, any experts out there?

use Frizz-Ease it's by john frieda it works great cus i have curly hair and before i make my hair stright i use it....it makes it look wet and shiny or Garnier Fructis they have stuff for curly hair to

I need help with my curly hair, any experts out there?

go to a salon and get matrix curl life defining cream. It works great and smells good too. I use it on my hair. It doesn't have any hold and it won't leave your hair stiff. It defines the curls and leaves your hair soft. (you know so your girl can still run her fingers through it! lol) good luck.

Help with curly hair?????

my hair is curly (im mixed...black and asian..) and EVERYTIME i try to wear my hair down...it looks good for like an hour...and then it starts getting extremely poofy...and ive been trying for years to fix it so i can wear it down and it be...........down! does anybody know any natural rememdies or tips for me so my hair will stay down.????

P.S- and i mean poofy lyk BIG.....not just a lil frizzy............its a huge afro!!!!!!!!

Help with curly hair?????

Oh honey I have the same problem. I'm mixed to, Jamaican and Italian so I have extremely thick hair that has beautiful curls.... but it just poofs too much. I litterally can't wear my hair down because I look like a clown. Let me tell you some things that worked well for me before I got my hair permanently straightened. I used to get my hair thinned. The idea behind this is that they take some hair out at the root to take out some volume. That worked really well for me, but you have to keep up on it or else the new growth will make your whole head look like you've got a fro underneath all of your other hair. I think you know what I'm talking about. LOL The other thing I did was I wore my hair down and went to the hair dresser. I told her to cut my hair dry to shape my hair to be less volumous. I absolutely HATE my hair... it's ridiculous man!!! Finally I just go that CHI permanent straightener. So much easier. Now my hair is soft, healthy and NOT frizzy or poofy. Good luck honey!!

Help with curly hair?????

leave-in conditioner is the best for curly hair...maybe try using biosilk as well...it gives you good shine and makes your hair a little more silky instead of course like most curly hair is

Help with curly hair?????

dont use spray or mousse, use heavy creams, it will hold it down, or get a japanese straightening... its alot of money but so so worth it!!!!

Help with curly hair?????

I have really curly hair. What i do is use a leave in conditioner after showering to get moisture and then add gel and a little hairspray when i style it and it keeps my hair down. Oh and u should also use a hair serum. I use pantene. It gives it shine.

Help with curly hair?????

I have curly hair and it always poofs up

What I do is I put in some hair mousse or gel and blowdry it with COLD air,hot air will make it frizz up.

After I make sure it is somewhat dry I add a little more of the product I am using and voila!

you should have non-poofy hair

which we curly haired girls all desire :D

Good luck!

Help with curly hair?????

i have really curly hair too.. and i prefer the wet look.. how about you?? well after i wash my hair i would put either small talk by bed head tigi or shimmer curl gel by schwarzkopf and it give me the wet looks.... and also your hair has to be partly wet before you apply any of this and also apply a generous amount of it on your hair.. they help to amplify and enhance curls... well hope this helps....

Help with curly hair?????

Try using Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion to your hair before styling.

Scrunched curly hair for super straight?

I really want to do my hair like curly with the wet look (i tried to find a pic, but i couldn't), i have super straight, thick hair that tends to be frizzy and i don't think i'm going the scrunching right because mine always looks limp and i want it to have volume. does this make sense? help please and thank you!

Scrunched curly hair for super straight?

I have volume and a little tiny bit of wave in my hair, and I can't get it to scrunch and stay. (Though I haven't spent a ton on different hair product either...that could be the answer.)

Hope someone can help...good luck.

Scrunched curly hair for super straight?

Scrunched curly hair

Scrunched curly hair for super straight?

Ok if you have a straight iron or something use it like three times and use hair spray. Or you could put your hair up with your bangs on both sides that would look so good.

Love,

Cat

Scrunched curly hair for super straight?

my hair is stick straight... but I can get that scrunch look

I wash my hair, then I take gel (really strong hold) and scruch my hair using my hands first getting the gel all over... then I take a towel and scrunch it some more... to get excess moisture out... then I take some pomade (fructis is good) and put that through out my hair, scrunching all the while (this makes it stay wet looking) then I spray a sprits of hairspray over the whole thing... it tends to stay for about 12 hours or so...

I have attached a pic of my hair straight and of it after doing this so you can see the results

Help with shoulder- length, curly hair.. running out of ideas!?

My friend has shoulder- length, gorgeous black, curly hair, but it always looks very lifeless and not as good as it could.

we need help to transform her look to make her hair look as breathtakingly beautiful as she is!!

so here are out questions: anyone with similar hair (fine, not a lot of hair) what shampoos do you use? what conditioner? what is your routine? do you blow/ air dry it? what styling products do you apply?

even if you can only answer one of these, help is appreciated!!

thanks so much in advance!!

Help with shoulder- length, curly hair.. running out of ideas!?

I would try herbal escences or sunsilk or pantene......sorry I can't help very much!

Help with shoulder- length, curly hair.. running out of ideas!?

Pantene Pro-V!!!! It works. Straighten her hair, add hairbands.

Help with shoulder- length, curly hair.. running out of ideas!?

well i have thick hair, but it is to my shoulders now, since i cut it, and it is very naturaly curly. What i do is i use garnier fructise curling spritz gel, it helps define your natural curls, and i use a dryer with a difuser all the while scrunching my hair with my hands and fingers, on the hard curls. it helps give it more body, and everyone always compliments my hair. Or most of the time, i just use my straightener, and my hair is so shiny, straight, people love my hair both ways. she really has a blessing, cause she can wear it both ways. i used to hate my curly hair, now i love it.

Help with shoulder- length, curly hair.. running out of ideas!?

Do not use Pantene Pro-V because you will never be able to curl her hair again. Try using Tre-semme. The moisturizing one. Use the shampoo and conditioner and then you can style it with the gel or mousse. Also I never blow dry my hair because when you have fine hair it ruins it to blow dry. Only do it if you have too. A cute hairstyle I do is take half of her hair like a half ponytail and make it into pigtails. Then use a waver over all of her hair.

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

I have very thick curly hair. I've never cut it shorter than shoulder length because I've found that the weight of it helps to keep it straighter and less poofy. I am sick of the upkeep and want to try something totally different. I want to get it cut short. Does anyone know any good short haircuts/styles that work for really thick curly hair (i.e. won't give me an afro)?

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

yeah i have to agree if you got really curly thick hair short haircuts are not good for it, and if you did if there was a way to keep it kept which there probly is youd probly need to do something to it everyday

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

Army Cut

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

Remember the show Felicity? If you do don't cut it really short didn't look good on her and it takes awhile to grow out.

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

no, don't do it!

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

the answe to that in simple! NONE

gurl i gots that thick!! curly!!! hair!!

and anything past shoulder lenght is an afro!

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

short with side bangs...get a perm

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

My friend has hair like that I think it looks pretty good, but it get Very Poofy.

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

Have you seen the "Felicity?" Google "Keri Russell hair"

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

get braids or get it straightened

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

just a little shorter then your shoulders

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

don't even think about it..... if u have a thick and curly hair don't try to cut it

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

just do what you feel is right

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

be patient watch for and ask women w/ similar hair whose haircuts you think look good on them where they got it cut, and then go there. Once you find a stylist you like, stick w/ them.

I have curls too, and I wear it a little longer on the crown, shaped, like a wedge or shingle on the sides and back, just covering my ears. Some days I don't do anything to it when I wake up besides run my hands over it.

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

i have really curly hair too i really liked it when i cut it short by putting my head upside down and putting a pony tail directly in the middle of my head about an inch away front the ends of my hair and just cutting off the one inch with scissors, it gives you a ton of layers

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

My friend had really thick hair with tight curls. She cut it all off to about 4 inches streched out then wore it curly. It looked great and totally different from the straight look she sported forever. When she straightened it wasn't as cute, but if she did big curls that worked better.

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

there's not a good haircut for short thick curly hair... everybody told me don't do it by cutting my hair short... i wish i would have listened... i wore a pony tail 4 months...

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

It seems like you don't like your hair being curly. I suggest getting a "hot oil" treatment from the salon. It will straighten and soften your hair really well. A few of my friends have tried it and the results are really pleasing. It is not permanent though. After about 3 months, your hair will start to turn back to its original.

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

do not get a bob cut...get it thinned and get several big layers...do not get it cut too short either...use salon shampoos and conditioners or other products that are good for keeping hair sleek and thin...you might want to consider getting it chemically straightened if youre going to cut it short...i don't have very thick or very curly hair, but i guess my hair is somewhat thick and it is curly and i got mine cut about and inch or so off my shoulders and then i would wear it scrunched and curly with lottsa gel and hairspray...that made it not all frizzy and puffy-like...it was curly yet sleek and sometimes i straightened the front (my bangs) and that was cute...

main things to remember:

do not get a bob cut

get it thinned and lottsa layers

use salon products good for keeping hair sleek...

chemical straighening...??

one last tip...if you have light blonde hair, then bleaching it helps get rid of puffiness..talk to your hair stylist about it...but i suggest you do not do this unless you want your hair bleached :)

Short haircut for thick curly hair?

I think these ones are really cute...

Are layers good for curly hair?

i have long-ish curly hair. i want to get layers for when i straighten it, but people keep telling me that since my hair is curly it wont work out and it will just curl up and look dumb. so will it work out?

Are layers good for curly hair?

A layered cut can work for curly hair. You just want to make sure that you go to a stylist that really knows about cutting curly hair. Check out naturallycurly.com. They have a link to curly hair salons that you can go to.

Are layers good for curly hair?

it depends on how straight your hair gonne be.

normal straight perm won't work well for ppl with natural curly hair.

you have to have a special perm to make it super straight hair.

Are layers good for curly hair?

yeah! Having layers will give you a beachy look, and it will look FABULOUS!

GET LAYERS! Prove those people wrong when you go up to their face and you look GORGEOUS. :D

Are layers good for curly hair?

i had long wavy hair

and then got it cut and it flipped out

and waved alot..but after i straighten it

it looks pretty good

but i guess it depends on diffrent kinds of hair

Are layers good for curly hair?

i have curly hair and got layers, nice when blown straight but soooo short and uneven when i had it curly. now i just have my front layered and the back of my hair even.

Are layers good for curly hair?

layers are good for curly hair! Whoever told you that dont know what they're talking about. With layers your hair would look good straight or curly.

Are layers good for curly hair?

Layers are BEAUTIFUL for curly hair, I don't know why people said otherwise. It helps take the weight and puffiness out of the bottom lengths of the hair and evens out the appearance. Don't get your layers cut with a razor though, because often the razor will fluff up the ends of the hair and will give it a rough, poofy look.

I'm going to look around and see if I can find some pictures for you to look at of people with layers in curly hair...just give me a little while :-)

Are layers good for curly hair?

Well get them too cutt of all your tips of you hair then if its like frizzy and curcly then itll look beautiful to me thats kinda like my hair but its wayyyy bettr now =]

Are layers good for curly hair?

Nahh..waved hair with lots of layers is amazingggggg!! jus make sure u dont cut it too small like vannesa in hsm2..it wasnt that great.. but yeh layers do help hair to be more wavy cos at the end of each layer the hair curlz in a diff direction..and more layers meanin more waves. jus maintain it

Are layers good for curly hair?

NNONONOONO theyre wrong, layers are wonderful for curly hair, it give lifes to the curls, just dont make a layer any shorter than your ear.

Are layers good for curly hair?

layers are excellent for curly hair. If you don't get layers and you wear your hair curly, your hair will be a big poofy triangle. I straighten my hair mostly too (my hair is naturally curly) and it looks really good. Since curly hair tends to be thicker, the layers will help to thin out your hair. hope i helped :)

Are layers good for curly hair?

if you continue to straighten your hair everyday , yes the hair will workout , but if you leave the hair curly, the hair will tkae on a choppy unfinished look to it.

Are layers good for curly hair?

yay! this is the exact question i've been trying to find out!! i'm getting a haircut tomorrow and i have curly hair too, and i wasn't sure if layers were good with curly hair. thank you for asking this question. i asked myself before, but i must've worded it wrong cuz no one answered my question, but i guess i should have asked this! thanks!!

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

I have supper curly-frizzy hair thay if i brush it out just get even worse.I've try alot of prducts, but the other problem is that it gets realy big. I need something that will defrizz and de-volumize....help?

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

Unilever has come out with a line of shampoo/conditioners/hair cremes called Sunsilk that will work on your type of hair, I believe it is the pink colored bottles (they have different kinds). You can find these at grocery/discount stores.

I have the same hair type. When I condition my hair, I run my fingers through it to get the knots out and don't brush it when I get out of the shower. The more you mess with your hair after you get out of the shower, the frizzier it will get.

Also you can try Biosilk, it is expensive buying it, but it lasts a long time, because you don't use so much. This product can be purchased at salons. You just run a little bit through your hair, use a creme based style product and then leave your hair alone to airdry.

Try a bit if vaseline or baby oil in your hair, don't use too much or your hair will go greasy.

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

I have curly frizzy hair too. You cannot brush curly hair when it is dry, it ruins the curl. when your hair is still wet or damp, put in anti frizz creme..i use dove.. Then you could use mouse/gel (i use herbal essances mouse) to hold the shape of your curls. Curl defyingspray gel by Garner Fructis also works really well for me..you canuse it whn yourhair is wet..liek mouse.. or when you hair is dry and you can scrunch into dry hair to revive your curls :)

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

u should layer it. go to a salon for this. at home or when going out, use a leave-in conditioner.

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

I feel ya sista...I can't seem to find the right product either but you might want to try Dove intense frizz control it works pretty well, the containers white, with a blue top. Good Luck!!!

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

well you should ask your mom or dad to take you to your hair cutter person and talk about it with him or her and then maybe he/she has some advise for you i mean after all they are profresional at it and they can give you advise and a product for your hair. well i hope that helps you out and i am sorry if you dont like my advise. but all i can say is good luck and i hope no people make fun of you becus ethat is just mean so good luck ok.

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

go to gethairapy.com for a free sample of sunsilk, I don't remember what color the "no frizz" product is, but they'll tell ya,

there's also a product called Sleek and Shine that some of my friends with more "ethnic" hair use, its a somewhat slimy serum you run through towel dried hair, it dries soft and adds a lot of shine and no frizzies

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

Invest in a flat iron, This is the best way to get rid of frizzies. It makes your hair smooth and straight!

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

I have the exact same hair type and have tried EVERYTHING including relaxing cremes, oils, high end products (I actually paid $100 for a conditioner that really did not help).

The one product that works for me and I seem to always go back to is Aveda Brilliant Styling Creme mixed with a little John Frieda Frizz-Ease Relax Texture Correcting Serum. After my hair is dry, I usually will lightly "pat" my hair with the Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade to keep the outer layers smooth. Most other products make my hair poofy (even the new sunsilk "anti-poof" line, which I found ironic). I also put more product on the underside of my hair and straighten it as much as I can in order to weigh down without making the rest of my hair greasy. This probably only works if your hair is long / thick so that the top layer of your hair does not "soak up" the product and look greasy. Also, I use Frederik Fekai (sp?) apple cider rinse every few days to remove product residual which helps as well.

If all else fails, getting the underside ONLY of your hair chemically straightened really does work to make your hair lay flatter and you can still have curl on the top layer, just a looser, less poofy curl - key here is to not pull the straightner through to the ends as it will severly dry them out. Hope this helps!

Frizzy-Curly hair ?

Get a hair strightner and try to use that.

Long, curly hair. What style should I opt for....?

I have long, curly hair, till my shoulders. When left open, they go out of control. I don't want to cut them. Neither do I want to tie a ponytail. What should I do

Long, curly hair. What style should I opt for....?

You need to use curl cream. I use Pantene ProV. Physique also has a good one but it's a bit more expensive. Apply to fairly wet (never towel dried!) hair. Scrunch the excess water out with a towel (not too dry) and then scrunch a little more without the towel to get good curls. Don't use too much curl cream or your hair will get crunchy, but if you don't use enough, your hair will stay frizzy.

For hairstyles, you can do pigtail braids for something fun, or for a more professional or night look, take the top half of your hair, flip it up and secure with a clip, then let it hang back down. I do this a lot and like having my hair out of my face, but still down. Hope that helps! :)

Best Products for Damaged Curly Hair?

Okay, so my hair is maturally curly and I really can't stand it. I would die for straight hair. But lately, I've been straightening in every day for the past 3 months or so, and now my hair is getting fried, very damaged and all that. I'm gonna try to leave it curl and save on so many heated materials but the curls I want or something like this:http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/... How can I achieve this look without damaging my hair. Also, what are the best products to tame , get less pouffy and less frizzy curls, soft curls but that stay in place?

Best Products for Damaged Curly Hair?

I use zero frizz from walmart for $5. The serum. YOu can buy all the products but it get's expensive I find using any shompoo and conditioner(i prefer finesses cause it's really think for extra moisture) is fine. But you need hair serum for when you style to help smooth the hair even if you go curly it makes it so frizz free.

Best Products for Damaged Curly Hair?

First, help fix your damaged hair with Pantene Restoratives. after 3 washes your hair should be stronger and less frizzy.

Second, try the Frederic Fekkai products to tame your curls...works wonders I guarantee it...

you can buy Frederic Fekkai products at Sephora or online at victioriassecret.com

How can I tell if I have curly or wavy hair? It looks like it's both!?

I have SUPER THICK hair! It's wavy and curly, and more of a fro at the roots then anything else! But I'm looking to buy hair products tailored to my hair type and everything is separated between "curly" and "wavy". How do I tell which I am more of?

And what products would you recommend for THICK wavy/curly hair of African American and Native American decent.

You can check the pics in my profile if you want to see the real me and my hair.

How can I tell if I have curly or wavy hair? It looks like it's both!?

You can pop in to your local stylist and ask your question, or just come in for a hair cut and ask for tips. I have the same type of hair, and one look that I think looks great is if you blow dry your hair and then using a two inch curling iron (or a smaller one for tighter curls) make ringlets. Then rub your fingers through your hair and you get loose waves. It takes about half an hour to do and looks great, keeping your hair looking curly, but not frizzy and yuck.

Here are some great shampoos to use if you want to keep your curly hair frizz-free and shining. have really curly hair and really like sunsilk brand, especially the green line. I use all 3 of the green line products, and once a week I use the pink mouse (it comes in a little tub). It is completely non-greasy and doesn't make your hair feel greasy, but it keeps your curls non frizzy. If your hair is more wavy then curly, I'd use the blue line, but the same thing with the pink tub. These products are available at almost all drug stores. CVS, most major Markets, etc. Easy to buy, and about 5 dollars per bottle. If you need to get rid of frizz, I'd recommend it.

Also, don't cut your hair shorter, let it grow longer. The extra weight of your hair will weight it down. I've gone down that route and it just makes it poofy. However, most importantly, make sure you embrace your curly hair. There aren't enough of us out there!

if ur hair is in definate curls, spirally, than they r curls, if it looks like ripples in a pond, then they r waves. i would get the curly products, and maybe a frizz control product, for ur roots. my hair does the same thing. if u dont want to buy a special product for the frizz, than apply conditionar b4 and after shampooing and rinse with cool water, which locks in the moisture. comb ur hair with a wide toothed comb when wet, for 100 stokes, which gets it really soft. later, when dry, brush 100 strokes, extra soft. it works with white ppl hair, idk about others.

How can I tell if I have curly or wavy hair? It looks like it's both!?

get products for curly hair...so that even if it's wavy the products for curly will treat both.

How can I tell if I have curly or wavy hair? It looks like it's both!?

A lot of people have mixed hair. I personally have extremely thin and straight hair under all of my hair (the ones that aren't damaged :D). Then I have semi straight/wavy hair on top. I have noticed that shampoo's and conditioners really don't have any special preferences for hair. To make your hair more curly, buy some John Freida's curl definition. African american hair if often very dry and can get damaged, so I reccomend hot oil treatments. Vo5 makes them and they are great to do once a weak. If you can't find any at your nearest store, you can just try olive oil. You heat up some olive oil in the microwave then spread it evenly into your hair, and you can even use a wide toothed comb to spread it more. Now take a warm towel (from the dryer) and wrap your hair up in it for 30 minutes. Then rinse your hair with cool water and wrap your hair up normally.

Good luck!

I want my Extremely curly hair straight, should i get it thermally or chemically straightened? hair

Well my hair is extremely curly, and I want to get it thermally straightened or chemically straightened. And from what i have read chemically isnt good for my hair, and it breaks off. Would thermally work better? I would like to here from a real hair stylist on this question, but who ever knows can answer.

Poofy, coarse, thick curly hair (Male.)?

I'm a 16 year old guy with thick, poofy-ish, curly hair; medium length. And what I'm aiming for though is a short-medium silkier hairstyle where my hair would actually just stay down, stay smooth, shine, wave and curl all at the same time. I'm tired of using Mousse to keep it down.

Dude...I have the same situation. I'm 16 and I hate my curly hair and wish i had straight hair instead. It you would like to keep it long but managable try the chi hair straightening method. Its expensive and takes about 3 hours but thats what I found worked the best for me...

What shampoos/conditioners do you recommend for slightly curly hair?

My hair is thick and slightly curly/wavy.

Usually its slightly straight but very frizzy and kind of wavy... hair that just doesn't look right without straightening. Most days the waves aren't curly enough to look good without styling, but occassionally my hair is really curly so I apply a little gel to keep frizz down.

I would really like to find a shampoo and conditioner that will either make my hair curly enough to not straighten everyday or straighter (so I can wear plain or a little bit of touch up with a straightener.)

%26lt;3 Kerry

What shampoos/conditioners do you recommend for slightly curly hair?

sunsilk

What shampoos/conditioners do you recommend for slightly curly hair?

herball essences curls and waves. It works great and smells amazing. That's what I use. The also have other kinds for frizziness, volume, straightening, moisturizing, and tons of other stuff. good luck :]

What shampoos/conditioners do you recommend for slightly curly hair?

yeah, sunsilk is good, and it smells muy bueno...and uhm Aussie, I am half black half white and my hair is like what you explained but super duperee frizz...and I leave the conditioner in not wash it out, it makes ur hair greasy if you dont wash it out and redo it the next day, so I dont know, that's just what works for me, Aussie is good but expensive.

What shampoos/conditioners do you recommend for slightly curly hair?

don't ever use herbal essance or however you spell it - for any reason.. the main ingredient is wax and it will just weigh down your hair and damage it. I suggest any products on the Redken line for curly hair. Go to a salon and speak w/ a specialist. Another really good line - if you color treat your hair - is purology.. they have specialized products for all hair textures. check em out! I know this wasn't really too specific but i don't have all the products memorized, i'm just suggesting anything by the two lines because they do formulate to your hair type! and Redken is awesome!

Best way to brush curly hair?

Whats the best to brush curly hair? My hair is half way down my back and very curly. I have a problem with it knotting up on the underside. Any suggestion on how to brush it without pulling myself baldheaded? I struggle on a nightly basis after I get out of the shower. I even dread the nightly task of brushing.

Best way to brush curly hair?

First of all, DON'T ever use a brush!! It'll get caught in the tangles and cause hair breakage.. Use a wider-toothed comb. Brushes should only be used for completely detangled hair. For long hair, make sure you use enough conditioner for the hair that is below your ears onwards. That way, you keep it nice and soft...

Then use a detangling cream or anti-frizz formula 'cus even if you don't have a frizz problem it helps to detangle and smoothen your hair. (I personally L'oreal's anti-frizz serum to help wih my wavy hair.) Plus, avoid combing your hair when its wet. When you do comb it when it's dry, start from the ends in sections, and work your way up so you can detangle gently without ripping your hair out of your scalp. I do wish I had longer hair like you though; mine's only just below the shoulders... So, if you do take of your hair with a few changes to your haircare routine, you'd have a luscious mane in no time!... Hope this helps!!! :-)

Best way to brush curly hair?

small amount of conditioner in a full bottle of water and use a pick not a brush seperate small pieces at a time and pick through it, i bet its really pretty

Best way to brush curly hair?

split it in to small pieces and use conditioner the smaller the pieces the easier it is to comb out

Best way to brush curly hair?

Try gently going through it with a large comb or pick BEFORE

you wash it -- wet hair breaks more easily. Start at the bottom and gently work through the knots. After you've washed your hair,

apply a good leave-in conditioner and comb through it again.

It might help to sleep with it pulled up into a soft scrunchie.

Best way to brush curly hair?

yeah brush it down wards and maybe u shud put it on a pony tail

Best way to brush curly hair?

Cut it short and go with the messy look. That's what i do....

Best way to brush curly hair?

I have REALLY curly hair... that I hate. It's a little bit more taimmer now that I'm old, but when I was younger, it was horrible trying to brush my long, VERY THICK hair. The only thing I found that worked was to brush it out in the shower... with a pick while I had conditioner in it. it took awhile to do, but it worked!!!

I have a short bob kinda...with curly hair?

I have a short bob kinda..and I have tight curls kinda...but they arent kinky or anything. anyways...when straightened my hair is up to my shoulders...when my hair is curly..its a little past my ears. the reason why my hair is so short..is because ihad to get 3 inches cut off....so i had no choice. but this bob thing just isnt working out!! i kinda have a chubby face...and kinda roundish. please...tell me what shampoo and conditioner to use to manage my curls. and i am NOT using any mousse. please tell me the best deep conditioner to use, and tell me the best leave in conditioner to use. i am not straightening my hair at all...because i have damaged it too much. and i dont have a good straightner either..i cant afford a good one. anyways...please help me. i dont know how to style my hair with thise curly hair!!!!

I have a short bob kinda...with curly hair?

The best conditioner I've used on my curly hair is a deep conditioner by Dove. It's for color treated hair which really moisturizes your locks if they're color treated or not. It's in a small pink-purplish container where you have to scoop the conditioner out with your hands instead of squeeze it out. I forgot the name of it, but they sell it in Walgreens. Just moisturize the crap out of your hair and invest in a cute wide headband - you'll be all right!

I have a short bob kinda...with curly hair?

Try Biologe hair glaze or liquid gel. I have naturally curly hair and it works great for that.

I have a short bob kinda...with curly hair?

I had the xact same problem with my hair last year, all i did was I bought a sampoo and conditioner that was to enhance straight hair, any kind like that, dont buy anything that adds volume, or brings out the tru potential, I hated to have hard hair so i didnt use moose or anything, just buy shampoo for straight hair, and that should do the trick.

I have a short bob kinda...with curly hair?

Don't use Dove, that stuff sucks. The best is Nexsus. But yea just thought I would try to help. Good luck. Curly hair rocks.

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

Ive went everywhere asking these questions and everything that people have told me doesnt work i love that i have curly hair but i need 2 know how 2 wear it down people are starting 2 get suspisios y i have ben wearing my hair up 4 2 years straight now please help me

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

I use Sunsilk Anti-Frizz shampoo and conditioner (Green bottles with a brunette female with long wavy hair) and my hair does not poof very much.

Yes, I am a male, but I have about 7 inch long hair. My hair is also naturally wavy so mine would poof if I did not use the Anti-Frizz stuff. I also use leave-in conditioner that works wonders.

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

the best thing that i can do for my curly hair is use pantene sleek and straight conditioner. do not rub your hair with the towel, just comb with a wide tooth comb and apply redken thickening lotion as a gel. then let air dry completely. do not shake your head or touch your hair while it is drying!

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

Try these products. They're really really good for defining and making pretty curls.

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

sunsilk the green kind shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 creme. i totally guarantee that it works and it smells soooo good! treseme mousturizes your hair really good, so it'll help cut down on the poofy-ness. if your hair is naturally thick, then go to your local salon and get it thinned.

frizz ease is another product you can try for you frizzy hair. i dont know if it works, because i have never really tried it. alot of people recommend it, and i have had two friends that purchased and used it. one said it was a miracle for her hair, the other said it did absolutely nothing and you had to buy like 6 "steps" for your hair and in the end it costed her like $20.

but thatever you do, DONT USE ANY PANTENE OR GARNIER PRODUCT! pantene has awful chemcials in it that ruin your hair and garnier makes you hair frizzy, tangled, dry, and completely unmanageble!

hope i helped and good luck.

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

I myself have really curly hair and it is about 1/3 of the way down my back when wet, just below my shoulders when dry. I use the Dove Extensive moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I never dry my hair and I put John Freida (I think is what brand it is) anyway it is Frizz Ease curl enhancer. Spray it all over your hair and let it dry naturally. Never comb or brush your hair once it is dry. I have tried many, many products but this seems to work better than anything else I've tried. Good luck

My hair is really curly and i want 2 know how 2 get rid of the frizzy and puffyness.?

Besides styling products to keep the frizz off, I focus on drying etc - in the summer, I roll my hair on giant rollers. Not to put it into a curly style, per se, but to get all of the hair going in the same direction. Then if I want my style to be almost board straight, I go over it with a blow dryer and a brush. Letting hair dry naturally is healthier of course, but the hairs go where they want, which at least for me, is why my hair looks frizzy.

Or I blow dry it (completely) immediately after just barely using a towel (rubbing my head to get the water off makes my hair even more frizzy), and then use the biggest electric rollers I can. I don't necessarily leave the rollers in until they are cool so my hair has a really curley style, but I take them out after a couple of minutes just to get those hairs going in the same direction, and so for me, less frizz.

I too use Pantene "Smooth and Sleek" conditioner.

I've tried perming/straightening my hair but it barely worked and damaged my hair. There is that new "Asian" method that really works (on "virgin" hair) but I hear it costs like $1000 or something.

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

Last time I got my hair cut the stylist said I'd have to straighten my bangs every day, which I'm ok with, but do you think straight bangs would look ok with curly hair?

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

i straighten my bangs when my hair is curly... but most the time i just straighten everything... as long as your hair isn't afro curly you'll be fine

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

my friend has that. i think it looks pretty

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

it's should be ok. but hopefully your hair isn't like mine because then your bangs will be very curly. i have long, curly hair and the shorter it is, the curlier. i mean, so curly that even the wind would make the hair i straightened curly, which was a pain in the butt. '

but otherwise the style is cute. i always wanted to do that. good luck

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

yeah it does i do it cuz i hav curly hair and got side bangs 2 but make sure u use something that protects ur hair from damage

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

you can also style a wavy side swept bang if your worried about the curly/straight contrast

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

yea it looks very pretty but the thing is u can damge ur hair by burning so yea it looks nice tho but its bad...

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

i have curly 2!! you don't have 2 straighten ur bangs u always can blow dry them.....and it looks fine w/ curly hair !! soo cute!!

How to straighten bangs Without a Straightener

I have curly hair and I'm thinking about getting side-swept bangs...?

I have only had bangs when I was little but I think they look cute curly too~Even with hair a different style then your bangs;)

I would do them how you like them~

Sometimes a stylist doesn't really know "your hair," ya know what I mean?

Try them both ways and see what you think works for you;)Good luck!

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

My hair is pretty long and I would like it shorter. I use pantene shampoo and conditioner for my curly hair. It works pretty good but, I dont know how I should cut my hair. I would really like to wear down but, I never can because my hair is way too big and frizzy. I would also like to keep it long enough to put in a pony tail. would it be a good idea to get layers? I would like it around shoulder length but I think it might get too puffy and big to wear it down. I'm not sure, I need help and styling tips.

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

If you want to go shoulder length, I would suggest long layers and maybe some layered bangs tapered to your face. Just make sure you tell your stylist that you want her to thin out the bottom of your layers with some razor scissors that way it will get rid of the poof at the bottom.

I have the same problem with the whole frizzy curly hair thing, and it worked wonders for me! good luck, hope i helped!

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

Do a Brittany Spears ;)

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

When u wear ur hair down just straighten it u can get relly cheap ones at target.

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

cut it 4 in. past shoulders w/ side weep bangs

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

I would keep most of the length, and just add some layers. While you are still in the tub right after you rinse your conditioner out. Comb through your hair with a wide tooth comb then put some gel in your wet hair and start curling individual pieces around your finger until you have covered most of your hair. Flip your head over and scrunch it a little. Then don't touch it again until it is completely dry. Don't brush it until the next time you wash it. This should give you really shiny defined curls.

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

-id say cut it a little bit longer than shoulder length

-ask 2 get it thinned

-layers mite help but der a little hard 2 manage and 2 get lukin gud unless u hav a straightner

-the cut will also depend on de shape of ur face

-get a straghtener (unless u like ur hair curly)

-use a smoothing balm

-try a mousse

*xxx*

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

i have the same hair. it's nice when its wet but when it dry's it grows everywhere faster than a chia pet. if you mainly have your hair curly, try layering it, it flows easier and i think its easier to control. Also use products. Sunsilk has a line of products for like 3 or 4 bucks a bottle, they don't make your hair hard and stiff like gel does. If you don't like those try a moose.

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

Shave it off, Babydoll. Guys love a girl with a buzzcut, it's sexy as all hell.

In fact, if you do it I'll be your new boyfriend. Heck, I'll be your new boyfriend even if you don't. I really feel a connection here that I just can't deny.

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

my sis has the same thing so my mom's friend (hair stylist) suggested that she cut it a little past the should and layer it and there is there like curl cream that help control and if you hair is like super frizzy don't straight it

I have thick, frizzy, curly hair, how should I cut it?

You should ask a professional hairdresser what to do with your hair, but as for haircare be sure to only wash it every other day with a gentle shampoo to eliminate frizz(hair need some oil to protect it) and condition every day to smooth hair. A great product designed especially for curly hair is Ouidad.

Anyone have any tips on dealing with MENS curly hair?

I had to specify, I see all kinds of tips for women and their curly hair, but nothing for us guys with curly hair. I have alot of curly hair, and I need to know a good shampoo and conditioner. Ive tried many and lots dry my hair out or make it feel like its been striped. Also I need tips on what to put in it, after its been washed so its still soft curly and shiny, BUT NOT GREASY. I have stuff that can make soft shiny curls but it always feels greasy I hate it.

Anyone have any tips on dealing with MENS curly hair?

CURLS are GREAT! Be glad you have them! First, start with a good style-cut. Tell the hairdresser/barber that you want to emphasize your curl but not have it be out-of-control. That usually means getting it cut long enough to curl but short enough to stay curled and styled-looking. I think that the same length (about 2") all the way around the head works well, but have the neck and around the ears trimmed neatly. Decide if you like a semi-AFRO b/c they work well with curly hair. If not, then keep it short and neat, but allow the wave and curl to go; this means a part may not work or as good as just a head full of short, styled curls. Use a little styling gel to hold it in place. That's it!

It does not matter too much about the kind of shampoo - - it's never worth the extra money for name brands. Sam's Club has a shampoo/conditioner all in one that is simple and easy. Men like simple and easy.

Anyone have any tips on dealing with MENS curly hair?

try" frizz ease" serum or spray. My husband swears by that stuff for taming hair.

Question about curly hair!!! please hurry!!!!?

screw the curling iron.

I just made this video today. watch it watch it =)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9l4T3uuj...

hope it helps!

Question about curly hair!!! please hurry!!!!?

DO NOT USE ROLLERS!

There is no need to..

First go buy some really good curling MOOSE NOT GEL!!!

After you wash your hair take your towel and dry your hair just a little bit.. Take some of the moose and rub it in the palm of your hands. spread out the moose all over you hair but not to much.

then crunch it like take you hair in your hands and close them all over your head... the let air dry then spray with hairspray very fast and IT WORKS!

Question about curly hair!!! please hurry!!!!?

big rollers and no gel but little bit of hair spray good luck..

Question about curly hair!!! please hurry!!!!?

Depends on the curl your going for, for a beachy mermaid style I scrunch, for a full volume salon style use the iron. I start at the bottom all the way to the root release the iron in a downward motion than on the same strand repeat mid length to the root, prefect spiral.
